ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
I provide coaching for a lot of people in technical jobs where they find it hard to get their message across in a way that is easy to understand. They speak to their direct colleagues using jargon and acronyms and it becomes part of their everyday language.
When they need to communicate to people outside their field, to business partners, customers or those who work in other departments, they find it hard to get to the point and speak with clarity.
This happens a lot in IT, finance, sciences, engineering, trades, but all fields have their own in-house language.
My workshop helps you to tailor your communication and present information that is meaningful to a variety of audiences.
You will learn:
- strategies for preparing the content and structure of a presentation that is easily understood by any audience
- how to clearly communicate the key message of a presentation or idea
- how to tailor information for different audiences and purposes so they care about what you say.
Each participant will:
- present a short 2-3 minute presentation where you explain a concept, idea or acronym that is specific to your field or organisation
- receive individualised feedback about how well you engaged the audience and how easy the content was to understand
- walk away with practical and life-long tools for communicating specialist and technical content so that it can be easily understood by a variety of audiences.
